Publication Date: March 5, 2018
Publisher: Pocket Star
Format: E-Arc
Age Group: Adult
Genre: M&M Romance

Dante Moretti has just landed his dream job: GM of the Chicago Rebels. And screw the haters who think there should be an asterisk next to his name because he’s the first out managing executive in pro hockey. He’s earned the right to be here and nothing will topple him off that perch—especially not an incredibly inconvenient attraction to his star defenseman, Cade “Alamo” Burnett. Cade has always been careful to keep his own desires on the down low, but his hot Italian boss proves to be a temptation he can’t resist. Sure, they both have so much to lose, but no one will ever know... As Dante and Cade’s taboo affair heats up off the ice and their relationship gets more and more intense, they’ll have to decide: is love worth risking their careers? Or is this romance destined to be forever benched?

All I can really say is YES! Yes, this was the book I needed! Yes, this was the book I wanted! Yes, this was the book I was glad to read! Sometimes I just need a book that is different from what I am currently reading just to change things up a bit and let me tell you. Kate Meader got me undone with this book!

I can honestly say that I am not a big adult romance fan but lately I have seen myself leaning more and more to this genre. However, I do tend to lean more to the M&M romance and I think it is just because I am able to connect more with the characters and the emotions they go through throughout the book.

This is the third book in the Chicago Rebels series but it can be read as a stand-alone. You might just be unfamiliar with some of the characters and some events that are mentioned throughout the book but it is not something that will leave you utterly confused. Following Dante, recently named GM of the Rebels, and Cade, player on the team, we take to the ice and watch as an unlikely relationship forms between the two. However, with titles standing in the way, we are left to wonder if there relationship will turn out to be more than just your typical one night stand.

This is a story that will definitely heat up with its sexy moments but does tackle issues that are relevant to people in the gay community. Cade is on the fence on whether he wants to make his "gayness" known, especially knowing how his father might react as well as a couple of team mates on the ice. In steps, Dante. Dante grew up facing tribulations with his sexuality and throughout the story we see him really become closer with Cade as more than just his GM but a friend and quite possibly a  partner.

Kate Meader has once again heated things up on the ice with a new favorite hockey loving couple. The plus being that they are gay. Continuing in the world of the Chicago Rebels but adding a new story with a new, sexy, Italian love interest to the rink you will fall in love all over again. I am so glad to have read this book as it made me fall deeper in love with not only this genre but Kate as well!

I give this book 5 souls!
