This groundbreaking new middle grade series follows DC Comics' most iconic female Super Heroes and Super-Villains . . . as high schoolers. At Super Hero High, the galaxy's most powerful teens nurture their powers and master the fundamentals of what it means to be a hero.
I was so happy to
be asked to read this next installment in the DC Super Hero Girls series. I was
not sure what I was getting into with the first installment but from the first
chapter I was hooked and the second book could not come any faster for me.
Lisa Yee is back
with another stunning superhero book that shows how bad ass the DC girls can
be. In her first installment, we follow Wonder Woman and her journey in her
bumpy transition from her home to Superhero High. However, now there is a new
girl, Supergirl, and she is just off to a bumpy start that Wonder Woman found
when she first arrived. It is not long though for Supergirl to make friends and
find herself to become a character of great importance.
What I liked so
much about this book was that it was just such a fun read. Just like the
first book, it was fast paced, easy to fall into, and the characters were
loveable. I loved the message of never giving up and being able to come in as
an outsider and find yourself. I know for the younger crowd this is really
something they can relate to and Lisa Yee does such a marvelous job of portraying
this through Supergirl.
I am excited to
read what comes next in the fantastic series that is perfect for anyone looking
for just a read to pick you up and make you smile. Supergirl is definitely a superhero
to add to your list of favorites.
I give this book
5 souls!
